About This Event
The Ulster County Traffic Safety Board and the New York Bicycling Coalition (NYBC) will host a free public forum on e‑bike laws, safety, and emerging regulations on Thursday, June 18, from 6:00–7:30 PM at the SUNY Ulster Kingston Center, 94 Mary’s Avenue in Kingston (Room 104). This free public event will provide community members with clear, accessible information on New York’s current e‑bike and active transportation laws, including which devices are legal or illegal, equipment requirements, operating rules, local regulations, safety considerations, and legislation under discussion at the state level. The forum will include remarks from Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, NYBC trainers, and local traffic safety professionals, followed by a community Q&A. At 4:00pm, NYBC will also conduct an advanced training session for law enforcement, elected officials, and traffic safety professionals. The forums are presented by NYBC as part of its Active Transportation Law and Safety curriculum, with support from a Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee grant. These events are free and open to the public, but registration is required, and space is limited to 40 attendees.
